On June 2nd and June 3rd, Ottawa hosted the Ontario High School Field Lacrosse Championship (OFSAA). It was a very exciting 2 days of field lacrosse that showed the talent and sportsmanship of our Ontario High School Field Lacrosse student athletes. In the end St. Michael’s College School from Toronto captured the Gold Medal with a 12 -7 victory over silver Medalists Monsignor Paul Dwyer Catholic High School from Oshawa. Notre Dame CCS from Burlington captured the Bronze Medal.
It was the vision of the Organizing Committee to provide a first class experience for our student athletes, coaches and families. We were sincerely grateful to the players and coaches who participated in our tournament. The level of sportsmanship and team discipline on and off the field was beyond expectation. We are unanimous in expressing that we had the pleasure in having volunteered to provide this event for 325+ exceptional athletes.
A special congratulation is extended to our two local schools who participated in the Festival. St. Joseph High School was seeded 7th and finished in 7th place. South Carleton High School was seeded 10th and finished 9th in the province. Our theme for the Festival was leaving a lacrosse legacy in the Nation’s capital. We are confident we have fulfilled that vision.
