  1. Well Brampton looks like a bloody joke showing this kind of an effort after the meeting held in which we allowed them to be an “A” team. Obviously the coach of this team (Brampton Excelsiors) does not realize that he does not have the potential or knowledge of going all the way with a lacrosse club, thank you for wasting my time and after viewing 0-4 on the standings board, you might want to consider giving up. Theres a little advice, i think its best that you take it and use it, perhaps it will do the team and yourself some good. I dont know how you feel about this situation, but i would feel bloody embarassed after sucking up to the ola in order to make Brampton an “A” team, when in the standings they look like this, therefore coach of the excelsiors, you clearly know nothing about the game !

    • Wow John Halfner you are a bitter old fool!

Grow up man, what decsions the coach of the Brampton team made were most likely driven by the past and future highlites of a great organization that gives pride and support to hundreds of children each year. The Excelsiors have a long tradition of lacrosse, and winning at every level. Is it not possible that the boys on this team made the decision to play as an A team and asked the coach to fight on their behalf. All the 94s on this team played A last year won all but one zone games took gold at the Macauley tourney, took silver in Orangeville, took silver in Hamilton but came to qualifiers and just made it to provincials where they lost all five games. Take a good look at the Halton season this year currently they are the biggest disappointment at the qualifiers.

Just because you do not like Brampton and its organization you should not come on public boards a spit your HATE MESSAGE. Your actions here John Halfner show what a small minded person you are. You have wasted my time reading your HATE and you should be embarrased.

10,000 volunteers QUIT minor sports each year because of ignorrant rants from uneducated FOOLS like John Helfner.

    • I am a Brampton parent so take from that you will – I do have to say though that our statistics stood for themselves and we DESERVED to be at qualifiers -there was an error and our “2” team’s results were mixed in with our initially which placed us down the list – once those mistaken statistics were pulled out we finished in 11th place – so no, not top six but deserving of a chance. Everyone is entitled to a chance, did we have a great weekend – nope – statistically are we the worst team there – nope….EVERY player deserves the chance to play at the highest level they can and who are you to say that these boys shouldn’t get their chance – oh yes, you are the same guy who if we had left things as is and done well in “B” would be here or where ever spouting that we were sandbaggers!!! I am am truly proud of our boys, they worked this weekend, they didn’t have the success they would have liked they shook off a really bad start and they held their heads high and kept plugging along! I wish ALL the teams good luck and ask that you remember anything can happen at qualifiers that’s why we play them.

    • By my evaluation Brampton is tied for wins with 2 other teams and ahead of 1. Are the Guelph, Burlington and Oakville organizations going to be subjected to this same hurtful rage. Brampton has played 4 of the current top 5 teams. Will they finish top 6, probably not but kudos to them for aspiring to be among the elite. Good luck to all the teams.

    • John Halfner,

I know 9th place is not much, but at least Brampton did not finish llast.

So I guess the begging as you call it was worth it.

      John, How does Crow taste?

Quit lacrosse John you are not welcome here any more.

      • 9th is a very respectable finish – Top 9 in the entire Province – out of 69 teams in Midget for 2009!!!!

Congrats to the Brampton Excelsior Midget 1 team (players and bench) who decided to strive to be one of the best – Excelsior meaning more lofty, still higher, ever upwards – and proved that they were.

Congratulations to all the teams who participated – and to those who are moving on to Final 6 – Good Luck!!!!

    • Brampton did very well, as did every team there that did not qualify. They put up great effort, and made things very interesting near the end!

Congrats to those qualifying, the Final 6 will be very good this year.

Congrats also to St. Kitts; you guys put up a good fight, but in the end it was not meant to be.

    • Being a part of the Midget A brampton team last year we had the potential to be among the final 6. We beat orangville 5-4 in one of our zone games-THEIR ONLY ZONE GAME LOSE. lost by 1 goal to peterborough in qualifiers, beat Halton hills in the first week of qualifiers and overall played a solid season. Considering we beat orangeville, the 2009 OLA Midget A champs, must say something about us being a midget A team. So before you glance at our mediorcore stats which throughout our zone games were not the best, i advise you to do your homework about the team you are critizing before commmenting.

  2. Brampton just beat Halton

  3. I guess I will only say that not every team that goes to qualifiers, goes with the “realistic” expectation of winning it all. Sure they want to win, prepare and play to win, but at the end of the day they are a longshot.

So I applaud all the teams that stepped up and entered into “A”. If they had to appeal to do so, good for them. It means they are striving to be better, and play at higher levels.

The reality is that every division needs competition and only 6 can go. If a team goes 0-12 so be it. But I would much rather be a part of a team going 0-12 at the highest level of competition than go 12-0 wondering what would have happened had we played against the best.

I do not know the Midget age group at all, but I know Bantam extremely well. My writeup that I am working on will explain what I believe to be the benefits of playing at the higher levels.

    • What’s your opinion on who has the easier schedule for Peewee, Bantam Midget in the second week.

      Who in 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 spots will change positions?

      • midgets from st cats arent gonna qualify.
they play whitby six nations akwesasne halton and orangeville
        good luck lol

  4. Halton for life?

  5. the bantam st. catharines team beat clarington in their last game 13-4

  6. the orangeville midgets r goin 2 win gold

  7. You guys said that in Bantam too.

  8. WD put on a strong performance to make it into the final 6, the goaltending was outstanding.

    • I did not see them play, but they had a big weekend based on scores.

      Beat Guelph and Halton!

    • i would say kitcheners goalie was the best goalie there in bantam. He was outstanding in both weekends until he was no longer needed on the final sunday.

      • The WD goalie but on a good show on the weekend against some strong opposition, I heard he had a shut out in one of thie games (6-0)..thats pretty impressive.

  9. Marksy im just wondering if your gonna be doing another one of those right ups for all the teams in each division again?

    • I am too.

It would be greatly appreciated to see your input.
