Rush Beat Mammoth, Move To 3-5

Submitted by Bruce Barker

After a heart to heart talk with Rush Coach / GM Bob Hamley on Saturday, Callum Crawford had a breakthrough game for the Edmonton Rush scoring 4 and setting up 2 in a big 10-9 win over Colorado on Sunday night at Rexall Place. The game was a “playoff game ” according to Hamley at his post game press conference as the Rush knew going into the game that Minnesota had lost 2 over the weekend.

Crawford was told by Hamley to use his size to get to the opposition goal and that is what he did while Andy Secore chipped in with 1 goal and 4 assists. Derek Suddons had a strong game defensively for the Rush. But it was goalie Chris Levis who came back to haunt his old team allowing just 9 goals while guarding the twine net. For the Mammoth former Rush forward Chris Gill potted 2 in a losing cause.

The Rush left Jason Wulder and Buck Stobart out of the game as healthy scratches.

The 3-5 Rush have game 2 of a 5 game home stand this Friday night when the Philadelphia Wings make the trip west.
