Accursi’s Return To Edmonton A Good One

Story by Bruce Barker

Buffalo BanditsWell sometimes the player you trade comes back to his old team and bites them on the butt. Mike Accursi did that to the Edmonton Rush Thrursday night at Rexall Place leading the Buffalo Bandits with a 5 goal 2 assist night en route to a 13-8 win.

The Rush were led by Dan Teat who scored 3 and set up 1 while rookie Ryan Campbell notched his 1st career NLL goal.

In fact the Rush kept the defending world champions close on the scoreboard until Ryan Mc Nish was slapped with a 5 minute major for checking from behind late in the 3rd quarter.

On the ensuing power play John Tavares scored a pair of goals to put the Rush away for the rest of the night.

With the win the Bandits are 5-0 while the Rush drop to 2-3 with the loss. Edmonton is not home now until February 22nd against former goalie Curtis Palidwor and the Colorado Mammoth.
