Josh Sanderson Talks About Trade

In the mad, mad Sports World, sometimes trades happen that you kind of look at and really don’t know if there was an advantage to either team.  Well one happened on Tuesday night and people have been talking about it ever since.  In what many would agree has been the undisputed “trade of the year”, Toronto sent likely their best playmaker, and a fan favorite Josh Sanderson to Calgary, for their best pure sniper Lewis Ratcliff.  Trying to figure out who got the better deal, I don’t think is possible at this point.  Needless to say though, people are talking.

A true irony is that these two could very likely work magic together, if on the same team.  Sanderson is a true playmaker and feeds his mates the ball religiously, making him one of the best setup men in the NLL.  Ratcliff is pure goal scorer through and through.   Unfortunately for now, they are still opponents.

I had the chance to catch up with Josh Sanderson in what I’m sure has been a few hectic couple of days.

GM: Did you know that there was a possibility of being traded?

JS: I did hear some rumours about a trade so i was shocked but not too much.

GM: When did you find out and who passed on the news to you?

JS: I saw the trade on the computer first; then i got the call to make it official.

GM: Have you talked to any Toronto players since the news has come out?

JS: I’ve talked to a lot of the Toronto guys and I’m going to miss them but I hear Calgary also has a great group so I’m looking forward to meeting them.

GM: Explain your thoughts on going to Calgary.

JS: I’m very excited to be a Roughneck and very happy to join another great organization.

GM: Do you have anything to say to the fans of Toronto?

JS: I would like to thank the Toronto fans for their support. I had a great time while I was here and would also like to thank all my teammates and the training staff for 4 great years.

GM: Josh, you were a fan favorite here, and I know I speak for the fans of Toronto by saying thank you and good luck!

JS: Thank You.
