Some Brainstorming Required….

There has been a great amount of debate of late about the lack of facilities in the Durham Region area to play Winter lacrosse with the recent closure of Soccer City.  At the same time there has also been some great debate about the local arena (Iroquois Park) being referred to as a “sweat box” in the heart of the summer months.

The locals are calling for either a new facility being built or the move of the Brooklin Redmen (and I would guess the Whitby Warriors) to the new GM Place recently built in Oshawa.  GM Place currently houses the Oshawa Generals Junior A hockey team.

So here is my challenge to all out there; specifically those living in the area.  It is time to come up with a creative idea or plan to have a new facility that can house lacrosse.  It may or may not be able to accomodate both needs above but let`s hear the ideas that are out there.

Everyone knows the lack of facilities, as everything is dominated by ice time in the Winter, but I`d love to hear the opinions of others because somewhere out there, there is a resolution.  We have just not heard it or had it presented yet….
