Nationals Day 2 Early Summary

In Peewee, team British Columbia continued to look strong defeating the Nova Scotia team 14-5 One thing I will say about Nova Scotia is that they battle from start to finish, and do not give up. These are great lacrosse traits. British Columbia looks good, and the anticipated match up between them and Ontario tomorrow night at Iroquois Park is already being talked about.

Team Ontario continued their winning ways as well by defeating Manitoba 23-1. Other scores had Saskatchewan defeating Quebec 4-3 and Iroquois defeating New Brunswick 8-1.

In Bantam, there was yet another doozy of a matchup this morning pitting undefeated Ontario vs undefeated British Columbia. Right from the starting gate it appeared that Ontario had some jump in their step, while British Columbia did not appear to have the same hop in their step. Ontario jumped out to an early 4-1 lead after one period and at that point I had to leave the game. I will say that the B.C. goalie sustained an onslaught of about 7-10 shots in a 30-40 second span late in the first period. He played quite well. Nothing against Ontario as they did play well today, but I don’t think we’ve seen the best game from B.C just yet. The final was Ontario 5, and B.C. 2.

Team Alberta continues to look really good in Bantam this morning defeating Saskatchewan 16-0. Alberta now joins Ontario as the only two undefeated teams in Bantam. The only other game had Iroquois defeating Nova Scotia 14-0.

Cruising the crowd today I saw another real proud young guy showing off his Provincial British Columbia colors. So I stopped him, got his picture and gave him a LITG wristband.
