Lacrosse For A Cure Tournament This Saturday

This Saturday, June 9 marks the 5th annual “Lacrosse For a Cure” co-ed, non-contact tournament in Whitby, Ontario. The tournament is a fun day of lacrosse games, a barbecue, camaraderie, and more. Proceeds go to support Breast Cancer Research. In addition, this season a portion of the proceeds will be supporting this site (in the form of Help Us Help Kids, and Minor Star of the Week).

Five years ago, two local ladies lacrosse league players, Tammy Bouwmeeseter and Jodie Perroni came up with the concept. In its first season it was a hit, and has become a very popular local tournament ever since.

Individuals can pay $20, or teams can enter by paying $200 for a guarantee of three games. There are playoffs and Championship games as well. The winning team gets a prize and more importantly bragging rights for the next full year (which start immediately).

If anybody would like particpate, simply go to Peel Park in Whitby, this Saturday and you will be placed onto a team.  Also, for anyone that would like to support the efforts of this tournament and make a donation please contact Tammy at  tammy.bouwmeester@gmail.com
