Lakers Sign Evans and Three Others

Peterborough, ON- The Peterborough Lakers sponsored by Doughty Masonry have re-signed four key players from last years Mann Cup championship. Major Series Lacrosse scoring champion, for the past two years, Scott Evans headlines the signings. Also re-signed are Captain Jason Clark and Assistant Captains Mat Giles and Scott Self.

Scott Evans led Major Series Lacrosse for the two past seasons in point total. Evans was the third highest scorer on the National Lacrosse League’s Rochester Knighthawks this winter with 70 points. Evans has been a vital part of the Peterborough Lakers since his rookie season in 2003.

Evans is often unnoticed due to the star cast the Lakers put together each season, but his contributions on the floor speak for themselves. He is a pure goal scorer, a playmaker and he’s not afraid to fight either. Scott is definitely a fan favorite in Peterborough. Scott is a player who is always willing to sign an autograph for a fan. He is devoted to his fans as much as they are devoted to him. Not to mention back to back 90+ point seasons that have turned him into one of the biggest names in the sport of lacrosse.

Mat is another leader on and off the floor. Giles put up 48 points in 2006 with the Lakers. The Lakers are very excited to have Mat back with the team.

Defender and Assistant Captain Scott Self has been a corner stone of the Lakers since 2002. Scott has earned the Major Series Lacrosse Top Defensive Player honors for the past two years. Scott is a gentleman on and off the floor, fans love to see his defensive toughness and then they find out he’s very approachable off of the floor.
