The Whitby Warriors Tyke 1 Lacrosse Team sponsored by TMR Inc. and J & M Sandblasting go 2 for 2 in tournament play, winning the Harry Kazarian Memorial Fathers Day Tournament over the June 20th weekend. The team coached by Wayne Cornish, now hold a tournament record of 9-0 outscoring their opponents an astonishing 106-18.
The Warriors squad defeated the Burlington Chiefs in the Championship game with a score of 12-3.
The Whitby Tyke 1 team consists of goalies Ty Fox-Trudel and Isaac Cromb and players Ryan Gallant, Dustin Hutton, Carter Schott, Cole Perfetti, Liam Parenteau, Mark Kyle, Cameron Warren, Adam Poitras, Matthew Cornish, Cullen McLean, Connor Platt, Parker Pipher, Ethan Doyle, Nathan Porter, and Matthew McCullough. Additional coaching staff includes Doug Parenteau, Gerry Platt, Phil Poitras, Andrew Porter and Manager Joanne Pipher.
The Whitby Minor Lacrosse Association was well represented in Owen Sound, with all 4 of the Whitby teams in attendance making it to the Championship finals on Sunday.
