Redmen Woes Continue On the Road

The Brooklin Redmen traveled to the Powerade Centre in Brampton tonight coming off a 15-6 loss last night to the Barrie Lakeshores. The frustration continued for the Redmen tonight against the Excelsiors as they were on the short end of a 12-3 loss which drops the team to 2-6 and lifts the Excelsiors to 6-1-1 good for first overall.

Period scoring was 3-1 for the home side after the opening 20 minutes. The Excelsiors won the second frame by a score of 5-2 and cruised through the third 4-0 chasing Kurtis Wagar from the net in the process to gain the 12-3 win and two points.

Anthony Cosmo played net for the Excelsiors while John McLellan spelled Wagar in the Redmen net for the second night in a row. Frank Lawrence and Grant Spies were the men with the whistles. They assessed a total of 96 penalty minutes, 53 to Brampton and 43 to the Redmen. The Carnegie brothers, Mike and Scott were assessed game misconducts while Redmen players Dave Campbell and Mike Carroll received the same for the Redmen.

Scoring – Excelsiors – Jon Harasym with a pair, Aaron Wilson with three goals and three helpers, Dan Teat (2,2), Blaine Manning (1,5), Josh Sanderson (2,6), Jeff Shattler (2)
