A big thank you to Brian Drew, who passed on a few photos of the 1964 Oshawa Green Gaels for our memory lane section of the site.
In this first picture, the legendary Johnny Davis is driving to the net against a defender. I am guessing but in the background on the Gaels bench appears to be the Gales founder and hall of fame lacrosse Coach Jim Bishop.
This picture and others that I will be posting were all taken by Bill Stannett (a sports photographer from Whitby) and were taken at the Oshawa Childrens Arena. Note the wooden sticks, but more importantly, nobody other than the goalies were wearing helmets.
