Lacrosse Loses One Of Our Own

It is with great sadness today that I write a small commentary about the loss of one of our own, referee Tom Hutchison. Tom suffered a serious head injury after an accident a week ago and passed away this week. Tom was 39, and leaves behind his wife Margaret, daughter Sarah 6, and son Jack 4. While I did not know Tom personally, I can say that I know he officiated the teams I have coached quite a number of times. I do recall specifically last season seeing him in Owen Sound, and will say that Tom certainly was a good ref, and by all accounts an even better person.

We at Lacrosse Inside The Game send out our thoughts  and prayers to Tom’s family at this very difficult time.

Terry King has written a more detailed bio of Tom that can be viewed Here
