Chris Lesanko was attending Bishop’s University and playing lacrosse for their CUFLA team. He was voted the Male Athlete of the year just days before he had his accident in March 2005. It was the first time a lacrosse player has achieved this honour. An innocent night of horsing around with the guys at their house at university ended in two of his vertebrae being displaced and causing spinal cord damage. He is paralyzed from the chest down and therefore confined to a wheelchair.
Chris is an amazing individual who happened to be a tremendous athlete and lacrosse player. He has been to “Project Walk” in San Diego through funds raised by his friends and family. There is still much more on his wishlist for his road to recovery and more fundraising is required. We feel compelled to help him in his time of need and hope you, as our friends in the lacrosse community, will pitch in. You can read more about Chris Lesanko at www.chrislesanko.com
Our Golf tournament in Muskoka is on June 16th/07 at the Muskoka Highlands Golf course in Bracebridge. Other tournaments are going to be happening as well across the country. There is one in Surrey, B.C.; ALberta; Saskatchewan; Sherbrooke, Quebec; and one just outside of Cleveland, Ohio.
If anyone is interested in playing in any of these tournaments, or donating to them they could contact me, Mary Gair at 705 689-9484 or email gair@sympatico.ca. We need “hole” sponors and donations for prizes and or items to be auctioned or raffled.
