Today is August 12, 2006 and I have just returned home from Iroquois Park Complex in Whitby after viewing the 2006 Ontario Lacrosse Festival Bantam Final between Team Iroquois and Team British Columbia.
What an event! The arena was absolutely packed and the game very entertaining. Team BC won 9-6. I have to say that it was a great all round spectacle and I’m sure all there had a good time. Earlier, Team Iroquois won the Peewee Championship defeating Team BC 7-6. I was unable to see this one, but it sounds like it was a great game as well.
I never ever (no, never) thought I would say this but tomorrow is the end of the lacrosse festival here in Whitby, and I’m somewhat o.k. with that (there I said it, and will never say it again). After participating in the Peewee Provincial Championships, viewing the Tyke Provincial Championships, and now viewing the Peewee and Bantam National Championships, while also catching some of the Novice Championships…..well you get the picture. So much lacrosse, so little time.
In any case, I will be writing much more later about the past 12 days, but for now, my compliments to all the volunteers that pulled this off, it was special.

Gary,
I would agree with your comments. This week has been great, but the season is nearing the end and the ice will start to invade the arenas. But you have winter ball to look forward to, especially if I am drafted onto your team–>
